Who We Are

At Storm Reconstruction Services, Inc., (SRS), you will find a group of professional people who have one goal in common.  That goal being to utilize our highly specialized training, talents and more than twenty years of experience to assist those who are attempting to recover from natural disasters.

We at SRS have extensive experience in construction, demolition, recycling and have been in the business of reconstruction with a specialty in debris removal for twenty years.

SRS has been recognized by Fox Network as the “Champion of the Industry”. Our list of contracts include many states, counties, municipalities and federal agencies.  In the past year, SRS has completed over $135 million in contracts.  We have coordinated reconstruction efforts for hurricanes, tornados, floods, wind storms, ice storms, and fire.

Our first experience in this field was in 1979 when hurricane Frederick ravaged the Gulf Coast, after plowing up through Mobile Bay, dividing its path of destruction between Mobile and Baldwin Counties, while spreading its wrath into the Florida panhandle and into Mississippi.  That was our first experience with neighbors helping neighbors after a natural disaster.  We have been doing this since that experience.

It requires much more that moving limbs.  We are on the road and heading in as soon as possible, because we know that neighbors in cities, states, or towns, no matter how far away they are, are in need.  That is their specialty.  Helping communities recover from natural disasters and bring back some semblance of every day life.  There are very specific laws and rules about the best and safest way to do what they do.  Our reputation stands on its own.

These are just a few points of our expertise.  Of course, our caring about the communities where we are working is something the friends we make everywhere they go, would have to tell you.  This is just a list of a few:

  1. Initial damage survey reports
  2. Contracts and guidelines to assist Request For Proposals on Debris Removal
  3. Proposals for additional reduction and disposal
  4. Loading and hauling debris from the right of way, ROE loading and hauling
  5. Managing and operating debris reduction sites, including:
    1. Tub grinding methods
    2. Air curtain burning methods
    3. Administrative support for FEMA documentation and record keeping

During the past few years, we have performed all forms of debris management following Hurricane Ike in the Houston-Galveston area, performed more than 450 miles of DOT maintenance in the State of Texas, as well as a number of debris cleanup projects throughout the Southeast.
SRS’ team of professionals banded together to expedite clean up in 2005 following Hurricanes Katrina , Rita and Wilma.  We provided more than $130,000,000 in cleanup assistance in the States of Alabama, Florida, Mississippi and  Texas. SRS’s cleanup in Stone County, MS was the first project to be completed finished in record time, with 100% reimbursement.

SRS provided invaluable assistance to the states of Florida and Alabama after four major hurricanes named Charley, Frances, Jeanne and Ivan caused catastrophic damage to this Gulf Coast states.  SRS successfully completed Debris Management contracts which positively impacted both states and assisted citizens in returning to a partially normal existence.
In 2003, SRS successfully completed more than 35 multi-million dollar contracts in as many municipalities and counties.
In 2002, massive ice storms in the state of Kentucky provided SRS with the opportunity to remove and dispose of over one million tons of debris in the counties, cities and municipalities all across the state of Kentucky.
Also in the spring of 2001, an ice storm which caused severe damage across Arkansas, Oklahoma and Texas, presented SRS the opportunity to remove over 3 million cubic yard of ice storm debris.
Another point of pride for the teams occurred in Syracuse, New York, when twenty SRS crews cleaned up over two and a half million yards of debris following straight line winds.  These crews worked around the clock and finished the project in just 60 days!  Yes.  That includes all two and a half million yards!

SRS was on the ground in Birmingham, Alabama, almost before the F5 tornado had lifted off, leaving behind $300 million in damages.
They were also on site in January, 2000, in Cobb County, Georgia, (Atlanta) after the catastrophic ice storm created unbearable circumstances for the citizens.

SRS continues to work with NRCS, USACE and a number of State Dot’s performing debris management contracts.
